In 2024, McCullough played the "Cheetah" spot for OU, which is a hybrid linebacker/defensive back position. He appeared in just seven games in 2024, after missing the first five contests due to a stress fracture in his foot. He recorded 17 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss on the campaign.

According to Pro Football Focus, McCullough played a total of 160 defensive snaps in 2024, and recorded an overall grade of 64.5. He also appeared on 35 snaps on specials teams.

In his two seasons with the Sooners, the 6-foot-5, 223-pound McCullough totaled 47 tackles, six tackles for loss and three passes defended.

As a true freshman with the Hoosiers in 2022, McCullough saw action in all 12 games (four starts). He amassed 49 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and three pass break-ups. He earned freshman All-America honors from multiple outlets.

As a prospect in the class of 2022 out of Bloomington High School South in Indiana, McCullough was rated as a four-star outside linebacker. He ranked as the No. 61 overall prospect in the cycle, and also ranked as the No. 1 player in Indiana and the No. 5 recruit at his position.
