Bill Belichick scored big in the transfer portal on Thursday night, picking up a commitment from Alabama transfer Miles McVay. The 6-foot-6, 342-pounder will have three years of eligibility remaining in Chapel Hill.
McVay is the second offensive lineman the Tar Heels have snagged from the portal.
The redshirt freshman saw time in all 12 games this season, most of which came on special teams, but has all the tools to step in a produce early for the Tar Heels.
He’ll join a frontline core that plowed the gridiron to help the Tar Heels accumulate 2,587 rushing and score 26 touchdowns. North Carolina threw for 2,807 and 17 touchdowns this season.
McVay signed with the Crimson Tide as a four-star prospect in the Top 100.
