Ohio State quarterback Devin Brown took to Instagram the night before the transfer portal officially opens to announce that he will transfer after the Buckeyes finish their playoff run. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
During his career with the Buckeyes, Brown has 47 pass attempts and 25 rush attempts and 47 pass attempts. Throughout his career he showed glimpses of his potential as a runner and thrower.
Brown was expected to compete for the starting job next season along with five-star Alabama transfer Julian Sayin. Instead, he'll transfer once Ohio State's season is over.
The quarterback position in the transfer portal is expected to feature a deep group of signal callers but few, if any, elite quarterbacks. There will be a long list of teams interested in Brown but it will be interesting to see how many quarterback-needy teams will wait until Ohio State's College Football Playoff run is over.
