A day after throwing his name into the transfer portal, former Cal running back Jaydn Ott pledged his allegiance to Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Ott will have one year of eligibility remaining in Norman.

The 6-foot, 210-pound speedster had a rough season in 2024, while battling through injuries he only managed to post 385 yards on 116 carries and four touchdowns.

Still, Venables and Co. are hoping Ott can recapture his sophomore magic, which saw him amass 1,315 yards rushing yards on 245 carries and scoring 12 touchdowns. He also added 25 receptions for 169 yards and two touchdown catches that season.

Ott’s addition should help to enhance a running game that ranked No. 11 in the SEC last season, racking up just 2,017 yards and 17 touchdowns.

He'll join Sooner running backs Xavier Robinson and Tory Blaylock to give Venables elite and versatile options in the backfield.
