Oklahoma departures on the offensive line are continuing as freshman guard Cayden Green announced Tuesday that he plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. The Lee’s Summit, Missouri native will have three years of eligibility at his next school.
Green started five games over 11 appearances at left guard during his debut season this year. The 6-foot-5, 311-pound lineman earned a 69.5 pass-blocking grade and a 49.4 run-blocking mark, according to Pro Football Focus.
Green signed with the Sooners as the No. 3 offensive guard and No. 61 overall player in the 2022 class. He was high school teammates with five-star Missouri defensive line commit Williams Nwaneri, making the Tigers a team to watch for his transfer.
Green’s pending departure could mean that Oklahoma will have to replace its entire starting offensive line from this season. The set to lose starting tackles Walter Rouse and Tyler Guyton as well as starting right guard McKade Mettauer and starting center Andrew Raym to the NFL. Meanwhile, backups Savion Byrd and Nate Anderson entered the transfer portal earlier this month.
Oklahoma did receiver a transfer commitment from Michigan State transfer offensive tackle Spencer Brown last week.
