Oklahoma State linebacker Mason Cobb is the latest big name to enter the transfer portal.
Cobb, an All-Big 12 performer for the Cowboys, announced his decision to search for a new college on Saturday night. The Utah native is looking forward to the "next chapter" of his career.
"After long conversations with family and mentors, I would like to announce that I have officially entered the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility left," Cobb said in a statement via Twitter. "I will always be a Cowboy at heart! It's time for me to move onto the next chapter of my life and make the decision that's best for me."
Cobb turned in the best season of his career in 2022, making 96 tackles, recording 13 tackles-for-loss, totaling two sacks, and grabbing an interception for Oklahoma State. He earned second-team all-conference honors for his play.
A former three-star recruit, Cobb enters the portal as a highly-coveted and instant-impact defender. His experience on the collegiate level and multiple years of eligibility remaining should have many programs in hot pursuit.
