Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders is the latest notable quarterback to enter the transfer portal. Sanders announced his intentions on Monday after spending four seasons in Stillwater.
"It is with a very heavy heart that I am announcing my decision to enter the transfer portal today, and in the spirit of the 'Cowboy Culture,' I wanted everyone to hear it directly from me," Sanders said in a message that he posted on Twitter.
A former four-star recruit, Sanders was a four-year starter for Mike Gundy and the Cowboys. The Denton, Texas, native threw for 9,553 yards and 67 touchdowns, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors as a junior.
Sanders broke out onto the scene for Oklahoma State early in his career. He earned Freshman of the Year honors in the Big 12 and helped lead the Cowboys to a 46-6 record in his 52 starts.
Spencer Sanders enters the portal with one more season of eligibility.
