Oklahoma transfer OL Joshua Braun commits to Kentucky

Kentucky is adding a new interior offensive lineman to its roster, as Oklahoma transfer Joshua Braun has committed to the Wildcats, according to multiple reports.

Braun played under head coach Sam Pittman and Arkansas in 2023 and 2024. Before that, he played at Florida from 2020 through 2022 under head coaches Dan Mullen and Billy Napier.

With one year of eligibility left, Braun will head to Lexington and play under head coach Mark Stoops, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Bush Hamdan, offensive line coach Eric Wolford and the rest of the Kentucky staff.

Braun was named a third-team preseason All-SEC selection by Phil Steele ahead of the 2024 season. Braun started all 12 games he played in this season at right guard. He played in 835 snaps, and recorded an overall offensive grade of 69.8, according to Pro Football Focus. He also recorded a pass-blocking grade of 82.8 (second-highest on the team) and a run-blocking grade of 67.7.

In 2023, Braun was named as a second-team All-SEC selection by the Associated Press. He started all 12 games in his first season with the Razorbacks, including 11 starts at right guard and one at left guard. Braun played 790 offensive snaps on the 2023 campaign.

In three seasons with the Gators, Braun appeared in 26 total games. He made eight starts.

As a recruit out of Suwannee High School in Florida in 2020, Braun was ranked a four-star offensive tackle prospect. He ranked as the No. 28 player at his position and No. 50 recruit in the state of Florida in the cycle.

The winter college football transfer portal window is scheduled to open on Dec. 9, 2024 for 20 days. Additionally, players have a 30-day window to transfer when their head coach leaves. There is also a five-day window for players to transfer after their team has finished postseason play. A 10-day transfer window will open on April 16 as well.
