Northwestern State freshman Hansel Emmanuel entered the transfer portal Monday. His decision is part of the fallout from Sunday’s announcement that Demos head coach Corey Gipson accepted the Austin Peay job offer.
At publication, eight Northwestern State players have entered the portal to find new homes.
Emmanuel, a 6-foot-6, 175-pound guard known for his ability to beat defenders off the bounce and score despite having only one-arm, is a notable entry into the portal.
While averaging a double-double in his senior season at Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee, FL), Emmanuel became a mixtape sensation and earned offers from Memphis, Bethune-Cookman and Tennessee State in addition to NSU.
Emmanuel appeared in 20 games this season, starting five. He made 53.8 percent of his shots and only committed nine turnovers.
