Oregon landed two key commitments on Wednesday, snagging former Texas State offensive lineman Alex Harkey and former Louisville tight end Jamari Johnson from the transfer portal. Johnson will have three years of eligibility for the Ducks and Harkey will have just one.

Johnson showed great promise in limited action as a redshirt freshman this season, managing 163 yards on 13 receptions and scoring a touchdown. Harkey brings a wealth of experience to the Ducks’ frontline and should step in right away with key losses like Ajani Cornelius and potentially Josh Conerly Jr. should he opt to enter the NFL Draft.

Harkey, a former two-star prospect in the Rivals 100 for 2022, originally signed with Colorado. Johnson was considered a four-star prospect in 2022 when he signed with Louisville.

Both players are expected to be immediate impact players for Dan Lanning and Co.
