Oregon State quarterback Gevani McCoy is headed for the transfer portal once again after just one season with the Beavers.
The 6-foot, 180-pound dual-threat star made the announcement via social media on Saturday night. McCoy came to Oregon State this season after spending three seasons at Idaho under center.
“This past year has been an incredible experience and I'm beyond grateful for our coaches, my teammates, the staff, and the amazing fans that showed out each week,” McCoy wrote in his post. “I may be leaving but Corvallis will always hold a special place in my heart.”
This season, McCoy threw for 1,300 yards and three touchdowns, but also threw six interceptions this season. He also rushed for 328 yards and five touchdowns for the Beavers.
The move isn’t exactly a shock considering that McCoy lost his starting spot after a blowout loss to Cal in late October.
McCoy originally entered college as a two-star recruit, posting 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns, plus 721 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns during his junior season.
