Penn State backup quarterback Beau Pribula has decided to leave University Park and plans to enter the transfer portal, sources told Rivals national analyst Adam Friedman. Pribula, who will have two years of eligibility remaining, confirmed the news via social media Sunday night.
Though Pribula made the decision, the timing wasn't exactly ideal to say the least.
"The current NCAA post-season model creates a challenge for student athletes," Pribula wrote in his social media post. The overlapping CFB playoff and transfer portal timeline has forced me into an impossible decision."
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder has been a vital contributor for the Nittany Lions, appearing in every game this season because of his capabilities as a dual-threat option.
This season, Pribula rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 275 passing yards and five touchdowns.
Pribula signed with Penn State as a three-star prospect back in 2022, picking the Nittany Lions over Nebraska, Rutgers, Northwestern, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, West Virginia and UConn, among many others.
