Pittsburgh legacy Elliot Donald has entered transfer portal

Pittsburgh redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Elliott Donald has entered the transfer portal.

Donald, the nephew of legendary Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald, a future NFL Hall of Famer, had six tackles, half a tackle for loss and one quarterback hurry in four games played this season.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder played in 19 games at Pittsburgh, and finished his Panthers career with 12 tackles, two tackles for loss, half a sack and one pass defended.

Donald signed with Pittsburgh in the class of 2021 out of Pittsburgh Central Catholic High. He was a Rivals.com four-star prospect, No. 95 nationally, No. 5 in Pennsylvania and No. 8 defensive tackle in the country. He picked the Panthers over Penn State and LSU among others.

Donald also had offers from Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Toledo, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The winter college football transfer portal window is scheduled to open on December 9th, 2024 for 20 days. Additionally, players have a 30-day window to transfer when their head coach leaves. There is also a five-day window for players to transfer after their team has finished postseason play. A 10-day transfer window will open on April 16th as well.
