Purdue transfer rush end Will Heldt has found a new program, as he is heading to Clemson. The school announced his official signing on Thursday afternoon.

Heldt took a multi-day visit to Clemson's campus earlier this week. He reportedly took trips to LSU and Texas A&M as well.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pound Heldt ranks as the No. 13 overall transfer portal player this cycle, according to Rivals.

It is no secret that Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has not often entertained the idea of using the transfer portal throughout his tenure with the Tigers. In fact, Heldt is the first-ever transfer portal pickup on defense for Clemson. Swinney seems to be more open to the idea of the portal this cycle, however, as the Tigers also recently signed Southeast Missouri State wide receiver Tristan Smith.

Heldt spent two seasons with Purdue under recently fired head coach Ryan Walters. He will have two years of eligibility remaining, with the option of a redshirt if needed.

Heldt started all 12 games for Purdue in 2024. He totaled 56 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, five sacks and a fumble recovery that went for a touchdown during the campaign.

According to Pro Football Focus, Heldt played 726 defensive snaps in 2024, and recorded an overall grade of 68.8. He also played 87 snaps on special teams.

In 24 career games with the Boilermakers, Heldt recorded 68 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks and the aforementioned fumble recovery.

As a prospect, Heldt was a rated as a high-three-star weak-side defensive end out of Carmel High School in Indiana in the class of 2023. He ranked as the No. 7 recruit in the state of Indiana and the No. 42 player at his position in the cycle.
