South Carolina capped off a memorable National Signing Day with a transfer addition, bringing in Tennessee athlete DeAngelo Gibbs. The former Rivals150 member is set to play his first season since 20018 with the Gamecocks.

Gibbs signed with Georgia as the No. 6 athlete and No. 132 overall player in the 2017 class. He spent two seasons as a defensive back for the Bulldogs, recording 10 tackles over 13 games. After transferring to Tennessee, he sat out the 2019 season to comply with NCAA rules. Heathen spent the 2020 season focusing on academics before failing to appear in any games last in 2021 or 2022.

It’s unknown if Gibbs will serve as a defensive back or a receiver at South Carolina moving forward.

Earlier today, the Gamecocks made a major splash, adding five-star tight end Nyckoles Harbor to its 2023 class.
