Stanford transfer quarterback Ashton Daniels has committed to Auburn, following an official visit with the Tigers.
Daniels played for Stanford for three seasons from 2022 through 2024 under head coaches David Shaw and Troy Taylor.
He will finish out his career at Auburn under head coach Hugh Freeze, offensive coordinator/running backs coach Derrick Nix, quarterbacks coach Kent Austin and the rest of the Auburn staff.
Daniels will join a new-look quarterback room for the Tigers in 2024, which also includes Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold and four-star true freshman Deuce Knight.
As a junior in 2024, Daniels played in 11 games, including 10 starts. He completed 170 out of 271 attempts (62.7%) for 1,700 yards, 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also rushed 148 times for 669 yards and three more touchdowns.
According to Pro Football Focus, Daniels played 597 snaps in 2024 and recorded an overall offensive grade of 72.6.
In 33 career games with the Cardinal, Daniels completed 366 out of 602 passing attempts (60.8%) for 3,986 yards, 21 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He also ran the ball 282 times for 1,117 yards and nine touchdowns.
Daniels was a three-star pro-style quarterback prospect out of Buford High School in Georgia in the class of 2022. He ranked as the No. 98 recruit in the Peach State.

The winter college football transfer portal window is scheduled to open on Dec. 9, 2024 for 20 days. Additionally, players have a 30-day window to transfer when their head coach leaves. There is also a five-day window for players to transfer after their team has finished postseason play. A 10-day transfer window will open on April 16 as well.
