The transfer portal doesn’t officially open until Monday, Dec. 9 but today brought a number of big transfer portal announcements. Here are the five biggest transfer announcements from today.

WR MICAH HUDSON

Hudson was the highest ranked player Texas Tech had ever signed and now he's leaving the program after just one season. The Red Raiders held off Texas and Texas A&M to land Hudson but they didn't play him much this year. The top ten prospect from the 2024 class only saw action in seven games this season and was targeted just 13 times. Hudson finished the year with seen catches for 111 yards. He'll be one of the top overall prospects this transfer portal cycle.

WR KEVIN CONCEPCION

It seemed strange when Concepcion’s brother, Arrion, decommitted from NC State in mid-November. The younger Concepcion had been set to follow his brother to Raleigh as part of the 2025 recruiting class. Now, neither will play for NC State next season.

The elder Concepcion has had a prolific start to his college career, amassing 1,305 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns on 125 catches. Rivals was the only major site to rate Concepcion as a four-star and he has more than proved that rating correct. He is set to be one of the most heavily recruiting prospects in the transfer portal this cycle.

WR OMARI KELLY

Kelly signed with Auburn as a four-star prospect in the 2022 class but he was only targeted 12 times in two seasons so he transferred following the 2023 season. He landed at Middle Tennessee State and had an excellent season. Kelly posted 53 catches for 864 yards and four touchdowns including four 100-yard games and one 200-yard game.

QB RICKIE COLLINS

Collins was a big addition for LSU in the 2023 class. The Rivals250 prospect was expected to develop and eventually take over the starting role in Baton Rouge. That hasn’t panned out like he had hoped and now he is headed to the transfer portal. In two seasons, Collins has seen action in four games and completed all seven of his pass attempts for a total of 38 yards.

CB JULIAN HUMPHREY

Humphrey very nearly transferred last offseason but now it seems as though he will go through with the move this time. The former five-star cornerback started 10 games this season, logging more than 250 coverage snaps and only allowing 14 catches for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Humphrey has been battling for playing time throughout his career in Athens but he has found it difficult at times because of the depth of defensive back talent Georgia continues to bring in every year.

QB ANTHONY COLANDREA

This transfer portal cycle isn’t expected to feature the number of elite quarterback transfers that last year did so Colandrea will be a very intriguing prospect for many schools. In two up-and-down seasons with Virginia, Colandrea threw for a total of 4,019 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions while completing 61.9-percent of his passes. He proved to be a threat on the ground as well, amassing 879 rushing yards and scoring two touchdowns.
