TCU is set to play for a national championship on Monday night. In the meantime, Sonny Dykes continues to add potential impact players through the transfer portal.

Trey Sanders announced that he will be transferring from Alabama to play for the Horned Frogs in Fort Worth. A former five-star prospect, Sanders provides Dykes and the Frogs with a splash through the portal at the running back position.

Sanders rushed for 528 yards and three touchdowns during three seasons in Tuscaloosa. He rushed for 80 yards and a score on 14 carriers for the Tide during his redshirt junior campaign.

The No. 3 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle has suffered an injury-riddled career to this point. Sanders had a season-ending foot injury during his first year in the SEC, and he was also involved in a car accident in 2020.

Searching for a change of scenery, Sanders has the opportunity to carve out a role for the Horned Frogs after a magical season in Fort Worth. TCU will be looking to continue the success that the program has enjoyed during the first season of the Dykes era.

Trey Sanders joins wide receiver JoJo Earle and offensive lineman Tommy Brockermeyer in transferring from Alabama to TCU.
