Former Texas A&M offensive lineman Kam Dewberry is changing schools, but not changing conferences. He announced his commitment to fellow SEC program Alabama on Saturday.
Dewberry spent three seasons in College Station, playing under head coaches Jimbo Fisher and Mike Elko from 2022 through 2024.
He will have one season of eligibility remaining to play under head coach Kalen DeBoer, offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic and the Crimson Tide. Dewberry also still has the option to redshirt if needed.
In 2024, Dewberry played in all 12 games for the Aggies, and saw offensive snaps in 10 contests. According to Pro Football Focus, he played 261 offensive snaps, with 160 of those coming at right guard (he also played 85 snaps at left guard, nine snaps at center and seven snaps as an in-line tight end). He added 64 snaps on specials teams as well.
Per PFF, the 6-foot-4, 330-pound Dewberry recorded an overall offensive grade of 58.6, a run-blocking grade of 58.4 and a pass-blocking grade of 51.0 in 2024.
Throughout his time with Texas A&M, Dewberry played in 32 career games with seven starts. As a true freshman in 2022, Dewberry was named to The Athletic's Freshman All-American team.
As a high school prospect in the class of 2022, Dewberry was considered a four-star offensive tackle prospect out of Atascocita High School in Texas. He ranked as the No.5 player at his position, No. 9 recruit in Texas and the No. 56 overall prospect in the class.
Rivals ranks Dewberry as the No. 151 transfer portal player this cycle.
