Adonai Mitchell wasted little time in announcing his next college. The former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver entered the transfer portal earlier this week before making his commitment to Texas on Friday evening.
Mitchell emerged as a key weapon for Kirby Smart and Todd Monken in Athens. He grabbed 38 passes for 560 yards and seven touchdowns in 18 games with the Bulldogs. Perhaps most notably, Mitchell hauled in a touchdown reception in all four of Georgia's playoff games the past two seasons.
A native of the Greater Houston Area in Texas, Mitchell finished his high school career in Nashville before signing with Georgia in the 2021 recruiting cycle as a four-star prospect. Now, he gets a bit of a homecoming by transferring to play for the Longhorns.
For Texas, Mitchell provides the Longhorns with a legitimate big-play threat on the outside. Additionally, he creates an exciting duo alongside All-Big 12 talent Xavier Worthy at receiver. It's yet another piece for Steve Sarkisian to utilize on the offensive side of the football.
