Add another high-profile name to this year’s quarterback market. Coastal Carolina starter Grayson McCall entered his name in the transfer portal Monday after starting the past three seasons for the Chanticleers. The redshirt junior has two years of eligibility remaining and is set to be one of the nation’s most heavily-pursued passers.

McCall earned Sun Belt Player of the Year honors this season, completing 69.1% of his passes for 2,633 yards and 24 touchdowns with just two interceptions while adding 183 yards and five more scores on the ground. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback has completed 70.4% of his passes for 8,019 yards and 78 touchdowns with eight interceptions over his college career. He also has 1,053 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground.

McCall is currently the third-best available quarterback in the Rivals Transfer Tracker behind N.C. State’s Devin Leary and Clemson’s D.J. Uiagalelei.

Alabama loses a five-star receiver

Alabama’s mass exodus at receiver continued Monday as Aaron Anderson entered his name in the transfer portal. The five-star freshman is the fourth Crimson Tide receiver to announce his departure from the program as junior Traeshon Holden committed to Oregon while sophomores JoJo Earle and Christian Leary are in the portal.

Anderson was limited for much of the season with a knee injury. He appeared in just one game against Austin Peay without recording any stats.

Anderson arrived at Alabama last January as the No. 23 overall player and No. 3 wide receiver in the 2022 class. The five-star playmaker earned plenty of praise during the Crimson Tide’s spring camp.

Duke raids Miami for veteran DB

Duke landed one of the best available defensive backs Monday as it received a commitment from Miami transfer Al Blades Jr. The 6-foot-1, 188-pound defensive back is entering his sixth year next season and has one year of eligibility remaining.

Blades moved to safety this season after spending his first four years at cornerback. He made one start over 11 games, recording 11 tackles and a pass breakup. Blades has started 15 games over 49 appearances at Miami, recording 93 tackles, 14 pass breakups and four interceptions.

Blades came to Miami as the No. 59 overall player and the No. 10 cornerback in the 2018 class. His father played safety for the Hurricanes from 1996-2000.

Virginia adds another piece on offense

A day after receiving a commitment from Monmouth quarterback transfer Tony Muskett, Virginia continued to build up its offense through the portal as it received a pledge from Northwestern receiver Malik Washington. The 5-foot-9, 192-pound senior has one year of eligibility remaining.

Washington led Northwestern with 65 receptions for 694 yards while pulling in a touchdown through the air this season. Over the past two seasons, he’s piled up 109 receptions for 1,272 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Cowboys wrangle up two playmakers

Oklahoma State dipped into the portal for a pair of playmakers Monday as it received commitments from Washington State receiver De’Zhaun Stribling and Western Michigan running back Sean Tyler.

Stribling leads Washington State with 51 receptions for 602 yards and five touchdowns this season. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound sophomore had 44 receptions for 483 yards and five touchdowns during his debut season last year.

Tyler, a senior, leads Western Michigan with 1,027 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging a team-high 4.91 yards per carry. The 5-foot-8, 185-pound back also has 12 catches for 111 yards and a score through the air.

Florida State lands a top TE

Florida State added a nice piece to next year’s offense as it received a commitment from South Carolina tight end Jaheim Bell. The 6-foot-3, 232-pound junior has two years of eligibility remaining.

Bell was a Swiss Army knife of sorts for South Carolina this season, reeling in 25 receptions for 231 yards and three touchdowns while adding 261 yards and three more scores on the ground.
