Transfer Tracker: Alabama TE commits to Texas

The transfer portal never stops grinding. With plenty of former ties at Texas, Alabama transfer tight end Jahleel Billingsley recently ended his process with a commitment to the Longhorns.

Recruiting: Billingsley took spring official visits to Alabama and Penn State before committed to the Tide a month later. Florida was also seriously considered until the end.

At Alabama: In three seasons with the Tide, Billingsley totaled 37 receptions for 559 yards and six touchdowns. He finished the 2021 season with 17 receptions for 256 yards and three touchdowns.

Farrell’s Take: Billingsley has athletic ability and he's a tall and long target as we've seen but between being in Nick Saban's doghouse and a poor performance in the title game, he will have to step up his efforts to make a huge impact at Texas. He's a bit of an enigma as he at one point looked like the next great Alabama tight end but regressed a bit.
