Transfer Tracker: Alabama WR Javon Baker commits to UCF

Gus Malzahn and UCF have struck again in the NCAA transfer portal. This time securing a commitment from former Alabama wide receiver Javon Baker.


Baker entered the portal on Jan. 14, then on Jan. 21 announced that he was transferring to SEC rival Kentucky, now the sophomore is headed to Orlando.

Baker saw action in 21 games during his two-seasons with the Crimson Tide. He caught nine passes for 116 yards during his career with Alabama – seven of those receptions, 101 yards and one touchdown came last season.

The McEachern High School (Powder Springs, GA) product was a four-star recruit in Alabama’s 2020 signing class. Baker was ranked the No. 20 receiver and the No. 110 overall prospect in the 2020 Rivals250.

Including Baker, all of Alabama’s scholarship players who entered the portal since Aug. 1 have found new homes.
