The transfer portal never stops grinding. On Wednesday, 2020 four-star running back Kevontre Bradford surprised many when he announced that he would be leaving LSU.

Recruiting: Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Wisconsin were the early favorites for Bradford, with the Badgers landing an official visit during the spring. However, as his senior season began, Ohio State, Texas and LSU became front runners. Despite taking an official visit to Ohio State, this came down to the Tigers and Longhorns, with the Tigers grabbing a commitment in late January.

At LSU: During his true freshman season at LSU, Bradford had 10 carries for 58 yards on the ground and three receptions for 13 yards and one touchdown through the air.

Potential landing spots: Almost immediately after entering the portal, Oklahoma became the hot name for Bradford. And yes, the Sooners have been in contact. Aside from Oklahoma, some of the other schools that are already involved include Pittsburgh, Houston, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, UCF and Louisiana-Monroe.

Farrell’s Take: Bradford has been popular out of the portal so far with a few of the usual suspects and some interesting potential landing spots for the talented Texas back like OU, Pitt and Houston. Ed Orgeron was very high on him early as a recruit so his value and potential is there. He has size and can make people miss and the speed is obvious as well.

IMPACT METER

The Transfer Portal continues to change the way college football programs recruit and manage their rosters so we here at Rivals.com continue to evolve our coverage. Each time a player of note enters the portal, we will examine their potential impact on the college football landscape and assign an impact rating, both when they enter the portal and when they choose a destination. The scale is from 1-10 and the description below explains the scoring scale.

1.1-4.0 — Not a big impact expected, likely a non-starter and down the bench depth player.

4.1- 6.0 — A solid impact can be expected in the right scenario and has the potential to battle for a starting job.

6.1-9.0. — A high impact player who won’t change a program but will certainly be a very good contributor and starter.

9.1- 9.9 — A very high impact player who should start the moment he steps on the field and will change the outlook of a program immediately.

10 — A franchise transfer who has a chance to be an All American and one of the elite players in college football.
