After suiting up for just nine games, running back Emeka Megwa has officially ended his time at Washington. The former four-star running back officially entered the transfer portal Tuesday. He announced the news on his Twitter account.
The move comes as little surprise, as Megwa didn't participate in spring practices due to injury and Washington announced on June 13 that he had left the program.
Megwa, rated the No. 11 running back in the nation as a prospect out of Fort Worth, Texas, was originally part of the 2022 class but reclassified to 2021 and joined the Husky roster in September. He never saw the field as a true freshman.
Megwa is the 16th Washington player to enter the transfer portal since Jimmy Lake was replaced as the team's head coach by Kalen DeBoer last fall. Megwa had a lengthy offer list as a prospect. He visited Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Missouri in addition to Washington.
