Transfer Tracker: Zach Evans commits to Ole Miss

The transfer portal never stops grinding. The day that TCU transfer RB Zachary Evans entered the portal, Ole Miss became a major player. While it may have taken longer than some expected, on Thursday he ended his process with a commitment to the Rebels.
Recruiting: Evans initially signed with Georgia, but then changed his mind. He flirted with Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida, Alabama, Texas A&M and LSU he eventually committed and signed with TCU three months after the 2020 National Signing Day.
At TCU: Evans rushed for 415 yards and four touchdowns during his freshman season and had 648 yards and five touchdowns in 2021. He also added 18 receptions for 206 yards and one touchdown over the two seasons.
Farrell’s Take: Evans has unquestionable talent and we saw flashes of it at TCU. He’s also completely unpredictable when it comes to choosing a school but Ole Miss emerged very early. He’s also a pass catching threat so the offensive fit here is great as Lane Kiffin knows how to use backs out of the backfield. I love this fit.
