The Big 12 quarterback landscape has transformed in a big way over the last few months. From Quinn Ewers and Dillon Gabriel headlining an incoming quarterback group to Caleb Williams moving out to USC, there has been a lot of movement.

With movement comes even more movement. That appears to be the case in the conference following the 2022 college football season. We highlight a few passers that might be looking for new homes for the 2023 season.

Hudson Card, Texas

Texas quarterback Hudson Card is the most obvious candidate at the quarterback position to transfer.

Card was benched last season in favor of Casey Thompson and then lost the starting job to Quinn Ewers ahead of this year's season opener. Card has stepped up in Ewers' multi-game absence, but he has struggled behind center throughout his career in Austin.

Card still shows flashes that talent is there. When healthy, he is a player that can be effective with his arm and his legs. However, due to a multitude of reasons, the former Rivals100 recruit has yet to put it all together on the collegiate level.

Card is set to earn his degree from Texas. After that, he could very well be looking for a new home and a fresh start to end his career. He will likely be one of the more intriguing options at QB in the portal if and when he does put his name in there.

Will Crowder and Garrett Greene, West Virginia

JT Daniels won the starting job at West Virginia this season and still has eligibility remaining. He has largely played well with the Mountaineers. Behind him, Neal Brown and staff have multiple quality quarterbacks on the depth chart that may not want to stick around for too much longer.

Garrett Greene signed in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Will Crowder followed suit in 2021. Then, four-star passer Nicco Marchiol inked in the 2022 class. There is a lot of competition in the room.

Daniels is the present, while Marchiol is viewed as the future. That makes things tricky for both Greene and Crowder, who sit in the middle of the two. It would not be surprising to see either enter their name in the portal following the season with quarterback movement occurring all over the nation.

Will Howard, Kansas State

Will Howard signed with Kansas State as a three-star quarterback in the 2020 recruiting cycle. After waiting his turn behind Skylar Thompson, Howard watched the Wildcats bring in Nebraska transfer Adrian Martinez.

Martinez has added a dynamic element to the K-State offense, helping lead the Wildcats to an upset road victory over Oklahoma in Norman. Martinez is set to exhaust his college eligibility, but Kansas State has four-star Avery Johnson committed in the 2023 class.

It is very possible that Johnson will need time to adjust to the college game as a true freshman. That would seemingly give Howard an opportunity to seize the QB1 spot on the depth chart. Still, with Johnson coming in, Howard is a candidate to enter portal.
