The attention on the Alabama-Georgia game this Saturday will be off the charts. Reputations and legacies are built in games like this one and there are dozens of players on both sides of the ball who are hoping to make a splash. Many of those players looking to make a huge impact on Saturday have transferred at least once in their college career.

Here are players who have transferred to Alabama or Georgia to keep an eye on in the game Saturday.

GERMIE BERNARD

Path: Michigan State to Washington to Alabama

Bernard began his career at Michigan State and transferred to Washington after just one season in East Lansing. While with the Huskies during his sophomore year, Bernard had the benefit of learning from outstanding receivers Rome Odunze and Ja’Lynn Polk.

After the 2023 season, Bernard followed head coach Kalen DeBoer to Alabama, where he is tied with Ryan Williams for most targets on the team. His eight catches for 125 yards and one receiving touchdown are all good enough for second on the team.

PARKER BRAILSFORD

Path: Washington to Alabama

Alabama’s offensive line has a storied history and Brailsford could become one of its most decorated before all is said and done. He was a Freshman All-American at Washington last season and was a preseason All-American this fall.

According to PFF, Brailsford has not allowed a single quarterback pressure this season. The Georgia defensive front is a major challenge for any offensive lineman so this will be a huge test for Brailsford.

TREVOR ETIENNE

Path: Florida to Georgia

Etienne was the bell cow for Florida’s offense the last two seasons, amassing more than 1,400 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns while playing for the Gators. This offseason he transferred to Georgia hoping to assume the same role.

Etienne’s career as a Bulldog hit a bump in the road before the season even started and he was suspended for the first game. Over the next two games he logged a total of 24 carries for 157 yards.

DOMANI JACKSON

Path: USC to Alabama

Keeping Jackson in California was a big win for the Trojans but things just never really worked out for him at USC. After two years at USC, he transferred to Alabama prior to the start of this season and he’s played well so far.

In three starts this season, Jackson has been targeted seven times, only allowed one catch for seven yards, and has one pass breakup according to PFF.

DOMINIC LOVETT

Path: Missouri to Georgia

Now in his second season with the Bulldogs, Lovett has blossomed into Georgia’s No. 1 receiver. He has more targets, receptions, receiving yards and yards after the catch than any other receiver on Georgia’s roster.

As a sophomore at Missouri, Lovett hauled in 56 catches for 828 yards and three touchdowns. Last year at Georgia, Lovett didn’t match those totals for catches or yards but this season could end up being his best yet.

LT OVERTON

Path: Texas A&M to Alabama

Overton has deep family ties at Alabama and the Crimson Tide were major contenders for him during his high school recruitment. Instead he reclassified to graduate a year early and signed with Texas A&M as part of its heralded 2022 recruiting class. That signing class fell apart and a large portion transferred elsewhere.

Overton is enjoying the best season of his college career. According to PFF, he had 17 quarterback pressures with zero sacks in two seasons at Texas A&M. In just three games at Alabama he already has 13 quarterback pressures and one sack. Even though he hasn’t started a game this season, Overton has played at least 30 snaps in all three games so he’s clearly an important piece of Alabama’s defense.

KADYN PROCTOR

Path: Alabama to Iowa to Alabama

Proctor’s story has been well-documented over the last year. A rocky freshman season at Alabama, which culminated with two of his best performances of the season, led to a transfer back home to Iowa. Proctor was a Hawkeye for less than a semester before deciding to transfer back to Alabama.

Proctor was injured prior to Alabama’s first game of the season but played in the Wisconsin game two weeks ago. He is set to start again this weekend.

KEON SABB

Path: Michigan to Alabama

Replacing Caleb Downs in Alabama’s secondary is a huge ask but Sabb is doing a great job so far. He played a key role in the national title game for Michigan but transferred to Alabama this offseason after Downs left for Ohio State.

Sabb started the season by picking off two passes. In the two games since he has broken up two passes and has a total of eight tackles on the season.

COLBIE YOUNG

Path: Miami to Georgia

Georgia is going to need some long receptions against Alabama on Saturday and Young is one of the receivers quarterback Carson Beck will look to connect with. Young began his career at Miami where he posted 79 catches for 950 yards and 10 touchdowns in two seasons. He already has two touchdown catches this season and he’ll be looking for more on Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
