USC safety Xamarion Gordon to enter transfer portal

USC redshirt sophomore safety Xamarion Gordon intends to enter to the transfer portal after three seasons with the Trojans. Gordon came to USC as a 4-star recruit out of Warren High School in Downey, California in the 2021 class. He had a Rivals rating of 5.8.

Gordon was an early enrollee in the spring of 2021 and redshirted his freshman season after only playing in three games against UCLA, BYU, and Cal as both a safety and special teams player. He recorded one tackle in the game he played against Cal.

In 2022 as a redshirt freshman, he played in 14 games as both a safety and special teams player. He recorded nine total tackles, eight of which were solo. He also had one interception.

In 2023, he was set to battle for playing time as a safety, but didn’t get any action at all. That’s clearly not how he wanted things to go.

With things not panning out for him at USC, Gordon is hoping to turn a new leaf somewhere else. Given how highly rated he was out of high school, there’s clearly some talent there and when he did play in 2022, he was able to show flashes of promise.

As far as where he might end up, the following schools outside of USC offered him a scholarship when he was in high school: Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Kansas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, San Jose State, Texas A&M, UCLA, Utah, Utah State, and Washington State. That’s a pretty solid list. I’m sure some of those schools are probably going to pass on him, but others might come calling.
