The Utah Utes have made a sneaky good acquisition in the transfer portal in Idaho sophomore running back Anthony Woods. While not a name that many people across the country know about, they soon will now that he’s heading to a Utah program that has become familiar to the national stage.

During his two years with the Vandals (24 games), Woods rushed for 2,027 yards and 19 touchdowns on 355 attempts. He also had 101 receiving yards and 1 touchdown on 21 receptions. This past season in 12 games played, Woods rushed for 1,155 yards and 16 touchdowns on 206 attempts. He also had 92 receiving yards and one touchdown on 15 receptions. His longest rush this past season was 93 yards while his longest reception was 13 yards. The longest of his career.

The Utes really do appear to have something here in Woods. He’s getting better each and every season and should be able to make an immediate impact on their running back room. It’ll be fun to see what he does in a Utah uniform and what kind of transition he makes to the Big XII.
