Utah RB Ja’Quinden Jackson enters the transfer portal

Utah sophomore running back Ja’Quinden Jackson has entered the transfer portal. Jackson played his freshman year at Texas in 2020 before playing the past three seasons at Utah.

Out of high school, Jackson committed to Texas as a 4-star dual threat quarterback before making the transition to running back. Given the mobility he showed as a dual threat quarterback, the potential to be a running back was always there. It was just a matter of whether or not quarterback would be his long term future and in the end, running back is what came calling.

During his time as a Ute, Jackson has blossomed into a solid back, rushing for 797 yards and four touchdowns this past season on 161 attempts. He also had nine receptions for 53 yards. He’s certainly figured out the position and should be a nice addition to whatever running back room he joins next season.
