Trey Moore, an outside linebacker and EDGE defender at UTSA, entered the transfer portal on December 5th: “The past three years at UTSA are years I will forever cherish. My time being a part of this team and culture has shaped me into who I am today. With that being said, I have entered the transfer portal”.
In 2023, the six-foot-three, 235 pound redshirt sophomore totaled 45 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, and four pass deflections. This was good enough for Moore to earn AAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, while landing First Team All-AAC recognition. His 14 sacks are a program record.
In 2022, as a redshirt freshman, Moore pulled in 59 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, and six pass deflections. He was named a Freshman All-American by The Athletic, College Football News, and the Football Writers Association of America. Moore was also named to the 2022 Conference USA All-Freshman Team and C-USA Honorable Mention.
Moore redshirted his 2021 freshman season.
Now, an AAC Defensive Player of the Year, Moore will be highly sought after in the transfer portal.
