On Tuesday, Vanderbilt junior running back Rocko Griffin announces his intentions to enter the transfer portal.
The news comes after Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea put out a statement that Griffin would no longer be a part of the program moving forward the rest of the season.
While Ray Davis was hampered with injury, Griffin led the Commodores in rushing during the 2021 campaign with 511 yards and four touchdowns. He also recorded 10 catches for 41 yards of the backfield.
After rushing for 63 yards and one score in Vanderbilt's season-opening win at Hawai'i, Griffin missed the Commodores next three games due to injury.
Since he returned to the lineup, Griffin saw limited action against Alabama and Ole Miss with Davis and backup Patrick Smith receiving a bulk of the carries.
Griffin will preserve his redshirt this season and will have to wait until December 5th to enter the transfer portal.
