Farooq started his time in Norman on a promising note, reeling in 37 receptions for 466 yards and five touchdowns. He followed that up in 2023 with 45 catches for 694 yards and two touchdowns and was set to be an intricate part of the offense this season before injuring his foot in the season opener against Temple.

Farooq, a former four-star prospect, signed with the Sooners over Auburn, Alabama and Baylor, among others.

He makes the fourth wideout to leave Norman this cycle.
