Former Virginia starting offensive tackle Blake Steen pledged to Mississippi State on Thursday.
The 6-foot-5, 328-pound Steen visited Starkville this past weekend before making his commitment to the Bulldogs.
Steen played three seasons for head coach Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers from 2022 through 2024.
With two years of eligibility remaining, Steen will now play under head coach Jeff Lebby, offensive line coach Phil Loadholt and the rest of the Bulldogs' staff.
This past season in 2024, Steen started all 12 games for Virginia. He played 736 total offensive snaps, with 693 of those snaps coming at right tackle, according to Pro Football Focus. Steen also saw action on 17 plays on special teams.
Pro Football Focus' data shows that Steen recorded an overall offensive grade of 63.6 in 2024. He also received a pass-blocking grade of 60.9 and a run-blocking grade of 69.3.
In 2023, Steen appeared in eight contests and started five games. He did not see game action in 2022 as a true freshman.
As a high school recruit, Steen was rated as three-star offensive tackle prospect out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida in the 2022 class.
Steen's older brother, Tyler Steen, currently plays for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL and earned a Super Bowl ring during the 2024-2025 season.
