Wake Forest RB Justice Ellison set to transfer

Wake Forest junior running back Justice Ellison led the Demon Deacons in rushing in 2022, and was the second most productive runner this past season.

The 5-foot-10, 209-pounder plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He was second behind sophomore Demond Claiborne in rushing yards this fall. He tallied 120 carries for 548 yards and one touchdown and added 10 catches for 61 yards.

Ellison led WFU with 170 carries for 707 yard and six touchdowns in 2022 after the transfer of Christian Beal-Smith to South Carolina. He added 541 yards and seven scores in 2021, when he stepped up after Kenneth Walker left the program for Michigan State.

Ellison has rushed 427 times for 1,909 yards and 15 touchdowns during his four years at Wake Forest, and he added 24 catches for 163 yards and a score.

Ellison was a Rivals.com two-star athlete coming out of Vienna (Va.) Flint Hill School in the class of 2020. Wake Forest, Army and Howard were his three listed offers coming out of high school.

Quarterbacks Mitch Griffis and Santino Marucci and tight end Trey Boll also have entered the portal.
