Washington State freshman running back Wayshawn Parker intends to enter the transfer portal after a productive season.
The 6-foot, 199-pounder from Sacramento (Calif.) Grant Union High arrived as a true freshman, and quickly became an impact performer. He rushed 137 times for 735 yards and four touchdowns, and he caught 11 receptions for 108 yards and a score. Parker was second on the Cougars in rushing behind sophomore quarterback John Mateer.
Parker had a season-high 11 carries for 149 yards and two scores in a 49-28 win over Utah State on Nov. 9. He topped 60-plus rushing yards in five games this season.
Parker picked Washington State in the class of 2024 over offers from Washington, UNLV, San Jose State and Sacramento State. He rushed for 1,907 yards and 24 touchdowns his senior year at Grant Union, and ran 10.9-seconds in the 100-meter dash. The former Rivals.com three-star prospect played at Elk Grove his first three years.
