West Virginia took a big blow to its offense on Thursday, losing running back C.J. Donaldson Jr. to the transfer portal. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound bruiser will have just one year of eligibility remaining.
Despite battling injuries throughout his career in Morgantown, Donaldson has put together a strong career, rushing for 2,058 yards on 421 carries and scoring 30 touchdowns.
This season, while splitting time with Jaheim White, Donaldson posted 734 yards on 163 carries and scored 11 touchdowns.
Donaldson originally signed with the Mountaineers as a three-star prospect in 2022, picking West Virginia over Florida, Florida State and Indiana, among others.
His combination of production and experience will make him a hot commodity in the portal.
