Memphis added former Louisiana center Jordan Brown from the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday. Brown was one of, if not, the best prospects in the portal.

He has one season of eligibility.

A five-star McDonald's All-American in the, the class of 2018, the 6-foot-11, 225-pound Brown began his NCAA career at Nevada, where he was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year, before transferring to Arizona and redshirting the 2019-20 season. In his one season with the Wildcats, Brown earned PAC-12 Sixth Man of the Year honors. He then headed to Lafayette, LA to play for the Ragin Cajuns and head coach Bob Marlin.

In two seasons at Louisiana, Brown appeared in 60 games with 57 starts and averaged 17.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. Last season, he posted 19.3 points a game, 8.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Brown connected on 57.1 percent of his shots, earning first-team All-Sun Belt honors, the Sun Belt tournament MVP and the Lou Henson Award as the top mid-major player in the nation.

Brown joins a Tigers team that is a virtual shell of the team that won 26 games last season, won the American Athletic Conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA tournament. Only guard Jayden Hardaway, son of head coach Penny Hardaway, returns from last season.
