North Carolina ended the 2024 regular season knowing it needed a boost at linebacker.
Long-time stalwart Power Echols has graduation, and for a few days, standout sophomore Amare Campbell had put his name in the transfer portal. Campbell returned and on Saturday he got help with Washington freshman outside linebacker Khmori House.
The 6-foot, 214-pound House ended the year second string at linebacker behind senior Alphonzo Tuputala. He had 35 tackles, one tackle for loss, four passes defended, one forced fumble and an interception, which happened against Northwestern on Sept. 21. He had a career-high six stops in a loss at Iowa on Oct. 12.
House was a Rivals.com four-star prospect in the class of 2024, coming out of powerhouse Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco. He was ranked No. 29 overall in California and No. 21 at outside linebacker nationally in the case of 2024.
Washington beat out Texas, UCLA, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Auburn among others for House on June 26, 2023. He remained solid to the Huskies after coach Karen DeBoer left to go to Alabama.
House totaled 72 tackles with two sacks and eight tackles for loss his senior year for 11-2 St. John Bosco.
