Maryland landed a big transfer commitment on Sunday in former Cincinnati cornerback Ja’Quan Sheppard on Sunday.

Sheppard is coming off a 2022 season where he earned First-Team, All-American Athletic Conference honors after collecting 50 tackles and 10 pass break-ups.

In four seasons with the Bearcats, Sheppard appeared in 38 total games.

Sheppard announced a Top 2 of UCF and Maryland on December 8th, before taking his official visit with the Terrapins over the weekend.

Cal, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, and Georgia Southern were other programs that had offered.
